Background

easier Over eleven thousand years ago, unicorn kind crossed into the mortal realm alongside the earliest of the gods, guardians and emissaries of Paradise. For millennia, they lived quietly among mortals, hidden in plain sight—creatures of myth disguised as ordinary horses. Their kind took on many forms and hues, from shadow-gray to midnight black.

Kiran was different.

Born with a coat of pure white, a rarity even among his own kind, he stood apart—not just in form, but in spirit. Towering and powerful, his build rivaled that of the warhorses of old, yet there was grace in his every movement, a quiet wisdom earned through lifetimes of watching the world grow. Among unicorns, he was revered for his strength and compassion—one who walked the line between the divine and the mortal.

When the gods called their fellow Paradisians home, nearly all answered. The gates of Paradise would close forever to those who remained behind.

Kiran stayed.

While others returned to eternal light, he chose the fading dusk of the mortal world. He watched as empires rose and fell, hiding among the herds, guiding from the shadows, offering silent aid to those pure enough to see beyond his disguise. Sometimes, his presence was mistaken for legend—a white horse that led lost travelers to safety, a guardian that appeared when all hope seemed lost.

As humanity advanced, Kiran took a new shape—one that could walk easier among them unseen. He learned their ways, and their hearts. He became a quiet wanderer, offering wisdom and subtle nudges that shaped the course of countless lives.

When the 19th century dawned and the long-sealed realms began to stir once more, Kiran felt the shift. The gates to many worlds reopened—save for Paradise. He sensed the return of magic, the slow awakening of creatures long thought myth and legends, and among them, two figures who stood out: a demon and a demigod working together to unite monsters and mortals. Theo and Devon.

Kiran watched them build something extraordinary—hope. When he finally revealed himself, it was not as a myth but as an equal, offering knowledge older than civilization itself. His proposal was simple, yet profound: the founding of the Council of Realms, an alliance to guide the coexistence of all beings and to protect their kind.

To this day, Kiran remains the last unicorn to walk the mortal realm—an ancient soul carrying the weight of paradise lost, yet still believing in the promise of harmony reborn.
